Last Days of Old Levee Boards
Levee boards are meeting for the last time. Passing quietly into history. Let's just hope the two new superboards won't fall into the same old traps that the past boards did.

Whatever their faults, which were many, we should never believe that lie that the levee boards were the cause of the flood.
Nonetheless any reduction of the number of political appointees is a step forward.
From where I sit, I say the Orleans Levee Board does carry some of the blame. Just compare the East Jefferson Levee District with the Orleans Levee Board and you'll see what a dysfunctional, destructive mess it was.
