Demolition du Jour: The Twi-Ro-Pa Mills Building
Came across the demolition of the Twi-Ro-Pa Mills building on Tchoupitoulas in the Lower Garden District last Saturday on the way over to the Port of New Orleans HQ for the "New Orleans Riverfront: Reinventing the Crescent" presentation.
Another building just goes away with no fanfare . . . No re-development possibilities with this structure??? Please. Detroit, St. Louis--here we come . . . (the gadfly continues to kick ass).

I fear we have already become Detroit but no one here knows it cause they are too excited about the Saints.
Whaa-a-at?
That's a shame.
Hey....I came upon your blog when googling info on Camellia Grill.
...please don't hate me---but I just copied some pics off your blog to post on mine about Camellia Grill.
FYI, the twi-ro-pa demolition is not associated with the Riverfront Development...that land is now owned by a private developer from Miami.
Wasn't there some big to-do about the building pre-K? Seemed that after the boys made it a profitable business the city stepped in to sell it to the highest bidder, eminent domain and all that tax revenue!

Yet another huge loss.
Many good times in there.
I think they did it for a reason, hopefully for the better.
Anyway, it seems new to my eyes.
Man, what morons. More lost architecture and potential.
Can we please form an independent party in New Orleans?
Please?
Where is this building located at? I've noticed that they tore down a lot of buildings recently. I decided to start a blog for everyone who wants to read about the changes in New Orleans. Do you have any pics you can share? I really liked your pic update on the Claiborne shopping center. I hope to update on that soon. Thanks!

Hello.. Firstly I would like to send greetings to all readers. After this, I recognize the content so interesting about this article. For me personally I liked all the information. I would like to know of cases like this more often. In my personal experience I might mention a book called Green Parks Costa Rica in this book that I mentioned have very interesting topics, and also you have much to do with the main theme of this article.
This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It’s the old what goes around comes around routine.

Hi,
Your blog is really very interesting... I like your blog.... Very interesting. Thanks very much!
What can you say sometimes you need to first destroy to rebuild. Otherwise they will remain as a sore thumb in the middle of nicely developed areas.
A great building. It would be a shame if nobody would like to rebuild it. I love that architecture!
